Sandie brings to Beaumont over 40 years of dance training at prestigious schools such as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada. She performed with many junior companies and professionally with Ontario Ballet Theatre. Her performance credits include: music videos, commercials, TV & film, and choreographer. Sandie has 27 years teaching experience at studios in and around Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, and Oregon. She attended Grant MacEwan College for Dance Teacher Training and holds a degree in Professional Dance with Honours from George Brown College in Toronto. She is a registered teacher in the RAD method and was awarded "Distinction" for her teaching certificate and has recently been certified in Acrobatic Arts up to level 10. She is very proud of her students
that have moved on to other schools such as the National Ballet School,
Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Vimy Ridge Academy, Joffrey Ballet, and Alvin Ailey … as well as those who’ve gone to work professionally teaching at BSSD, dancing for Citie Ballet and performing for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. One of Sandie's greatest joys in her career was having Miss Abbey qualify and compete in The International Genne Awards. Traveling to London with Abbey and Julia to watch and be a part of the Genne live was a dream fulfilled.
Pamela has been involved in dance for 40 years, in one capacity or another. She trained for 16 years in RAD ballet and CDTA tap and jazz. Before taking a break from teaching dance, Pamela taught tap and jazz for 6 years, as well as two years RAD ballet. She received her CDTA Teaching Certification in both Tap and Jazz, with Honours. Pamela just recently completed her Level 1 Certification in International Dance Teaching Standards. She also holds her Bachelor of Education from the U of A and served on the BSSD executive for 7 years. Since Pamela's return to the studio, she has attended Nuvo, Triple Threat and Groove Street Dance Conventions, as well as The Big Apple Tap Festival, to advance her teaching methods. She considers herself very lucky to be a part of the talented BSSD teaching staff and is so proud of the growth of the BSSD Tap program. She would like to thank her students for inspiring her to be a better teacher, and the BSSD executive for their support and dedication.
Taylor grew up dancing with BSSD since the age of four. She has trained in RAD ballet, jazz, lyrical, novelty, modern and hip hop and has been involved in the Performing Group since the day it was formed. After graduating, she trained with Shelley’s Dance Company in Advanced RAD Ballet, Novelty and Modern. Taylor has excelled in dance over the years and received numerous awards at various dance competitions. She competed in the Miss Teen Canada-World pageant in 2009, placing in the top three for talent and has also participated in the Grey Cup halftime show as well as the Feats Festival. Taylor currently teaches Lyrical with BSSD and has received recognition for outstanding choreography for many of her past numbers. She is a Graduate of MacEwan University with a major in Int’l Business. Taylor is the owner of MNDFL Movement Studios, currently working on her full STOTT Pilates Instructor Certification; including reformer/ prop pilates & injuries and special populations. Movement is her passion and she loves to share it with all of her students!
Richard Andries has become one of the key driving forces within the Hip Hop dance scene in Edmonton and across Alberta. With his high energy classes and his passion for the art, he continues to share his vision of the positivity of hip hop culture in everyday life. His personal style is heavily influenced by the foundation of hip hop dancing; popping, locking, breaking, house, etc, and newer forms such as Krump, and Street. Richard and his company, “Rhythmic Flow Productions” (alongside Urban Metropolis) have produced shows with
the Jabbawockeez, Super Cr3w, Fanny Pak, and Supreme Soul, from America’s Best Dance Crew. Richard acts as Senior Manager of 3rd Street Beat; Edmonton’s only hip hop studio. He continues to sharpen his skills training with North America’s finest and lives with the motto that you are always a student of the dance.
Erin has extensive training in ballet, jazz, and modern dance; learning
from talented professionals in all styles. She completed the Advanced RAD examination at the age of 15 and received scholarships to many professional summer programs and master classes. She also holds the Certificate of Higher Education: Dance Education, and has Graduated Honors with Distinction from the Arts and Cultural Management Program at MacEwan University. Recently, she gained certification in the Progressing Ballet Technique by Marie Walton-Mahon. Erin gains the most joy from seeing her students achieve their goals and accomplish their dreams.
As a graduate of Shelley Tookey, Sarah has extensive training in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hiphop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Classical & Pop Vocal. She has completed examinations in many area’s such as : Al Gilbert Tap Syllabus, Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Syllabus & The Royal Conservatory Vocal Standards. She most recently received her first certificate in Alixa Flexibility, along with being fully certified in Acrobatic Arts. She has competed in many competitions throughout the Edmonton area over the past 20 years, earning titles such as Overall high-mark soloist at Dance Power, Candance Titled Soloist Winner, Junior winner at K-Days Talent Search and Artists Emerge Finalists winner along side training & competing with professional hiphop crews throughout the city. Along with competing Stacey Tookey’s choreography in 2008, she has has the opportunity to train with world renowned choreographers around North America and Asia since. After graduation, Sarah continued her education in Business, Physiology and Interior Design at MacEwan & the UofA while performing with NXG company & BBM at competitions such as Artists Emerge & World of Dance; appearances in Magical’s - ‘Peep Game’, Bijaan - ‘Angels’, Arlo Maverik’s - ‘Too Many Too’s’ and KBL’s - ‘Pennies’ music videos and Festival Players Productions of White Christmas, Crazy 4 You, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat and Cats! She is incredibly thrilled to bring her experience across many extensions of performing to Beaumont School of Dance and mentor these talented students through their dance adventures.
Sabrina Eng comes to us with over 15 years of dance experience. She has
trained in Ballet/Pointe (RAD and Vagonova), completed Advanced 1 RAD
examination, Jazz, Tap (Al Gilbert), Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, and Urkrainian. She has furthered her training by travelling across North America attending various conventions and workshops both as a dancer and a teacher. She has performed at numerous competitions and received awards, performed at shows and galas. For the past 10 year, she has worked at other well known dance studios in Edmonton such as Edmonton Dance Factory teaching Jazz, Hip hop and other disciplines as well. She is excited to join the BSSD teaching team this fall.
Katelyn grew up dancing in Nova Scotia, and brings with her over 10 years of dance experience. She has trained in hiphop, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary and still continues to train in hiphop and compete throughout Edmonton. In addition, she is fully certified in Acrobatic Arts, as well as an integrative dance curriculum called Rhythm Works Integrative Dance. Throughout her years in the industry, she has had the opportunity to work with various theatre companies and choreograph multiple productions, as well as work with students varying in ability and ranging from ages 3 to 80+. For the past four years she has been teaching in Edmonton and the surrounding area, during which she has been awarded multiple choreography awards, top mark awards, and adjudicator choice awards.
She is looking forward to joining the BSSD team this upcoming year, and is excited to share her knowledge and experience with these talented students
Megan has been dancing with BSSD since the age of 4 and has trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and novelty. She has participated in many summer intensives and is looking forward to organizing the BSSD Summer Dance Camp again this August. Megan has performed in events including the AB Winter Games Opening Ceremonies, Grey Cup Half Time Show, Spooktacular, AB Ballet Nutcracker, etc. Megan will be graduating from the University of Alberta this December with an Elementary Education Degree. After being a company member for 4 years, Megan performed her final show with the advanced dance company "MOD Contemporary Dance Movement" this past March. Last summer she became a certified dance teacher by completing her "International Dance Teaching Standards" level 1 course in BC. Megan absolutely loves teaching and sharing her passion for dance with everyone at BSSD!
Katie began her dance training in Edmonton at the age of six.
She has since recently completed her Cecchetti Associate Certificate from Edmonton School of Ballet’s Teacher Training Program, as well as a Certificate in Pedagogical Studies and Dance Teaching from the Teacher Training Program at Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto. She has trained in a wide variety of styles including Cecchetti, RAD, and Vaganova ballet styles,
as well as jazz, lyrical, modern, hip hop, acro, national dance,
and character. Through this she has passed her advanced one exams in Cecchetti Ballet and ISTD National Dance. In addition to teaching Katie also takes on choreography projects with musicians and theater groups in Edmonton, and is working on her own new work for next year’s festival season. She is very excited to share her love of dance with all of her wonderful students!
From the age of 4, Abbey has been training in various styles of dance with BSSD. Additionally, she has trained at Citie Ballet, Edmonton Dance Centre, Triple Threat Convention, as well as two summers at the National School of Ballet in Toronto. Abbey was a semi-finalist at the 2015 Genee International Ballet Competition in London, England. More recently, she was a member of "MOD contemporary dance movement" at the University of Alberta and has started her professional career with Royal Caribbean Cruises. She is currently in Miami rehearsing for her second ship "Serenade of the Seas". Abbey is proud to call BSSD home and is so grateful to have been able to work with her students during her vacation! She wishes everyone the best of luck with their performances and will see them in December :)
Paris has been dancing with BSSD since she was 4, training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern and Contemporary. Paris has earned several scholarships for dance, won many medals and championships with the BSSD Performing Group, and has also completed her RAD Advanced 2 Ballet Exam. Aside from dancing in Beaumont, she has participated in several Summer Schools over the years at ESB, Edmonton Dance Centre, and Citie Ballet, and has performed in the Grey Cup half time show, the AB Ballet Nutcracker, and shot her first commercial in 2015. Paris was also apart of MOD Contemporary Dance Movement at the UofA for two years and enjoyed being their Co-Vice President for the 2016-2017 season. Recently, Paris finished the 3rd year of her undergraduate degree in Social Work at the University of British Columbia. Though she now lives in Vancouver, she has continued choreographing and subbing at BSSD and will continue sharing her life long love of dance with her students in the future.
Madelyn is better known as “Miss Maddie” to all her students this season. She is currently enrolled in Grade 12 at the École Secondaire Beaumont Composite High School and has been dancing with BSSD since a very young age. Miss Maddie has trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop. She also represents BSSD competing in the performing group. Miss Maddie assists with our Movement & Mobility, as well as, ballet classes. She has also been part of the dance choreography team for the Block 5 productions at the High School for the past 3 seasons. Miss Maddie loves working with our students and sharing her love for dance.
Jordan has been dancing since the age of 3 and has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop, novelty, and contemporary. She was lucky enough to join the Performing Group at 6 years old and has had the pleasure to be an assistant teacher for the past 5 years. Aside from training at BSSD, Jordan has had the opportunity to spend a summer training at the School of Alberta Ballet, as well as Edmonton School of Ballet and Ballet Kelowna. For the past 3 years, she has been fortunate enough to travel to New York City and be able take classes at studios such as Broadway Dance Center, PeriDance Capezio Center, and Steps On Broadway. Recently, Jordan was certified as an assistant teacher through the International Dance Teaching Standards Program. Jordan is very excited to join the teachers at BSSD. Dance is the most important part of her life and she hopes to inspire a shared love of dance in all of her students !
